"4 AIRLINES SAID TO PAY MILLIONS TO TERRORISTS"
Journal of Commerce (02/09/89), P. 5B
Several international airlines, 1 American and 3
European, paid millions of dollars in the 1970s to protect
their aircraft and passengers from terrorist attacks by
Palestinian terrorist groups. According to Neil
Livingstone, a former congressional aide who now serves as a
consultant to several airlines, his information on the 4
airlines has been corroborated by U.S., Arab, Israeli, and
European intelligence services. He said most of the
extortion money was paid to the Popular Front for the
Liberation of Palestine when Wadi Haddad was operations
chief, but he also implicated Palestine Liberation
organization head Yasser Arafat. Livingstone would not name
the airlines at the international aviation security seminar
in Tel Aviv, but said he would do so soon.
