I may be going to Europe the week of April 24th. I'll be in Valbonne
for 2 days, then in Reading, England. I need to figure out how I
can keep Passover. Assuming there are local kosher restaurants,
will any of these be kosher for Pesach? I am not rigorous, so whose
supervision is not an issue for me. I've traveled with many boxes
of matzohs in other years, but I will feel more comfortable if I
know what to expect.
Yours,
Meredith

While you are in Valbonne you can try getting Pesach provisions at the Au Roi David restaurant on 9 Rue Clement-Roassal in Nice (about 20 kms. from Valbonne). The phone there is 93-87 65 25. There is also a hotel in Cannes that is Kosher and I would assume be open during Pesach. It is Hotel Acapulco on 16 Boulevard d'Alsace. The phone there is 93-99 16 16. I don't know of anything in Reading proper (Malcolm, is there anything...???...), but I'm sure you can get Pesach provisions in London (either in Golders Green or Stamford Hill). There is also a "hotel" (more like a boarding house) in Golders Green which serves meals. It is called Avia and is located at 350 Finchley Road. The phone is 01-794 67-56 or 794 79 15. Have a "Chag Kasher V'sameach".... Cb. | |||||

Hi Meredith,
While in Reading you won't find any kosher Restaurents. The
Shul has a shop which opens Sunday morning and one other evening
during the week.
London is very close (door to door by car shouldn't take more than
1 hour assuming your're not at rush hour).
For accomadation there's always chez moi. In the past I've only
been in Reading for chol hamoed but this year I don't know.
I've survived with one Pesach saucepan and paper plates.
At the least I'm sure that I could help you by taking a pesach order.
That will save you from shlapping it across the pond!
