| My understanding was that it was changed from the 13th (Rosh HaShana)
to the 15th because each of the next 2 Tuesdays presented a difficulty
for Jews. The 20th was erev Yom Kippur, the 27th was Sukkot. Whatever
the reason, this is "valuing differences".

| Hi
This is *NOT* only the type of thing you can only expect in America
and Israel.
In Britain for one, you won't find an election on a religous
holiday.
Here too, elections are held on Tuesdays.

| Also,
How come they chose the original date to be Rosh Hashsanah?
Didn't they check their diaries?

| They probably had the same diary that DEC did when scheduling this
year's DECworld.

| Malcolm,
The law in Massachusetss says that primary state elections are to
be held on the second Tuesday of September. When they "checked
their diaries" they saw the conflict and changed the date.
