489.0. "Visit to USA " by TAV02::WIESEL () Wed Jun 29 1988 07:05

	I'm planning a private visit to USA during 8/88. I want to visit
	N.Y., Boston, Washington and Montreal.

	I'm a religious single 29 years old, working in SWAS Israel.

	I want not only to see places, but to "feel the spirit", meet people
	go to interesting unusual places etc.
	Since it's my 1st visit in the states, any information to help
	planing the visit, from	any kind, will be appreciated.

489.5a few sites to seeADVAX::STEARMANSusan, WS Tech Consulting, MLO1-2Wed Jun 29 1988 18:3013
    In Washington D.C., among many Jewish related sites:
    	visit the B'naiBrith Headquarters which has a museum with
    	changing exhibits (RhodeIsland Ave & 17th, N.W.)

    	visit the Israeli embassy

    There is a good book on Jewish siteseeing. Its title is something
    like "The Jewish Traveler's Guide to the World". It covers almost
    every country you can think of.

    The American Jewish Council has a travel service which might be
    able to send you a sample itinery for the cities you are visiting.

    Yossi -

    What time of year will you be traveling? If you can pick and choose,
    may I suggest either spring or fall. You will want to plan different
    activities depending upon the season, however, spring and fall can
    be beautiful (weather providing, or not).

    Boston seems to come alive in the spring.

    Also, what are your interests?
