366.0. "Wanted - Conservative shul @ Needham MA" by IAGO::SCHOELLER (Help! | !pleH) Wed Sep 16 1987 18:48

Shalom Y'all,

Well we are finally getting around to serious shul shopping. I would like to
hear any recommendations for the Needham area. I would include recommendations
from all adjacent towns. We are looking for a Conservative shul. (Forget
Reform; and my wife refuses to go for seperate seating). Must have daily
shacharit (I am getting tired of davening at home :^{) ).

Todah,
Gavriel

I'll put on my hat as an officer of the place (well, "assistant
financial secretary" isn't terribly important, but they let me play
    with the PC).

Temple Reyim is probably the closest temple in Newton to Needham.
It's about 1/2 mile east of Route 128, on Route 16. It is
Conservative, leaning slightly in the more old-fashioned direction.
(I.e., it's not aggressively egalitarian, has a real cantor rather
than lots of member participation, that kind of thing.) People
are friendly and visitors are made to feel welcome. It's not a
    snooty place at all.

There is a regular morning minyan at 7:00 (9:00 on Sundays),
and there is current discussion of adding an evening minyan.

I live 6 minutes walk away and am willing to host visitors who
would rather not ride on Shabbat.

    	Contact me for further information.
