243.0. "Looking for a Moyel!" by TROLL::KATZ () Thu Dec 04 1986 20:31

Is there anybody in the Boston-Newton area who can recommend a moyel?
My wife is expecting on December 26 (Chanukkah-what a present!) and,
we would like to make arrangements in the event its a boy.

Any feedback or comments would be most welcome.

    Shalom,

    Alan,

    Try Dr. Gaynor from Framingham. He did bris to my son three years
    ago. We lived in Brighton at the time and he traveled there. I
    remember that the way he did it, my son cried for about 5 seconds
    only! The fee was $125 and somehow was covered by insurance.
    His number is 877-4600.

    Please let us know when the baby is born.

    Congratulations,

243.2and from Nashua, would you believe...DECEAT::FEINBERGDon FeinbergFri Dec 05 1986 10:297
You might call Dr. Alan Green in Nashua. He travels down
here to Mass. for this....he's reasonable, and "heimishe".

Mazel tov.

    Have you checked with your Rabbi for his(her?) suggestion?
    Will it be in shul or at home?

    We used Dr. Arnold Wieder from Brookline. (He's a Ph.D. not a MD.)
    He was very personable and efficient.

    Mazel tov.
    It should come at a good time.

    I also recommend Dr. Green from Nashua. He's a surgeon (I think?)
    and his wife is a pediatrician or vice-versa. Anyway, we were very
    pleased with him although I just about fainted during the procedure
    itself.

	Ooops.  They're both OB/GYN's.

243.6Dr. GaynorSWATT::POLIKOFFMy apple trees have no peers.Fri Dec 19 1986 12:424
    	Dr. Gaynor did my sons but that was 23 and 19 years ago. His hand
    may not be as steady any more so you should get a second opinion
    on his talent.

243.7Yes, Dr. GaynorELWOOD::SIMONFri Dec 19 1986 17:013
    That's right, that's the same Dr. Gaynor, who is probably in this
    trade for centuries :-). He sure looks old, but his hand was still
    firm.
243.8REGENT::WOLFWed Dec 31 1986 08:3510
    I believe GAynor had a recent stroke or some other malady. I do
    not believe he is doing it anymore. That Leaves Charles
    Scholssberg (sp) of Newton and Weider. Weider just did my
    nephew's 3 months ago. His advantage is that he is faaaaast and
    he is good at keeping the tension down (my sister-in-law was a wreck.
    Schlossberg (sp) (as an indication) was MY pediatrician
    adfhasdjfhj years ago, but in a pinch....... Otherwise call
    a local rabbi or temple..

        IF its not too late ,.... best of luck with the new arrival......

    But how do you guys know the birth date to the minute??
    I thought I was a bit of a yekke <==> orderly/on-time/everything
    in its place kind of person...but when my little guys were born,
    all I could remember was a resolution of about 1/2 hour or so.

    [To tie into another topic I just ran through - Ashkenazim/Sephardim].
    I'm convinced the Oriental way of life has changed me (to the better).
    Sephardim are raw in their emotional complex; When they are angry
    there is no mistaking it. When they are joyous, there is no holding
    back. (That's why many of these 'mixed' marriages work out so
    nicely).

243.14Dr. Gaynor passed awayDECSIM::HAMAN::GROSSThe bug stops hereMon Jun 21 1993 22:415
My wife noticed an obituary for Dr. Gaynor in the Sunday paper. It says he
died unexpectedly in Florida and the funeral will be in Framingham. If I recall
correctly, it also said he was 79.
