238.0. "CJP" by CSSE32::MERMELL (Andy Mermell) Sun Nov 30 1986 17:19

Does anybody know whether the CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies)
qualifies for DEC matching grants?

Try marking the donation card (and a note attached to the donation)
that the donation is to be used only for "outreach programs, and programs
that benefit the community as a whole." The fine print on the back
of the grant form forbids "gifts made to denominational organizations,
unless funds benefit [the] whole community."

238.2CJP is just the Jewish United WayGRECO::FRYDMANMon Dec 01 1986 09:0810
    The CJP is a social services agency like the United Way Fund and
    does p{ovide funding for services that are open to the community
    at large (e.g. Jewish Vocational Service, Jewish Community Centers,
    Family and Childrens' Service).

    It will be matched --with no special notes needed on the donation.
     If you have questions, call the Matching Funds Administrator, Barbara
    Schlichter, MSO/K10  DTN 223-7256.
