107.0. "Our turn for a BAGELS brunch .....!" by FORTY2::ELLIS () Thu Apr 10 1986 12:56

    For those Bagel-ers here in Reading, I'm arranging a "Bagel Brunch"
    in DEC Park 2 on Monday 14th April 1986. I know it's very short
    notice, but it's near-enough a spur-of-the-moment thing.  If you
    would like to come for brunch at 12:30, please can you mail me on
    FORTY2::ELLIS so I know how many to cater for. The food will include
    bagels, cream cheese, taramasalata, olives, smaltz herring, apple
    strudel, etc., and will probably work out at around one pound per
    head.

    As I'll be getting the food on Sunday, I'll need to know by 17:00
    tomorrow (Friday), please!

    Hope to see you.

    Susan.

107.2Shmaltz herring!!!!GRAMPS::LISSFred - ESD&P Shrewsbury MAThu Apr 10 1986 13:394
    Too bad I'm on the other side of the pond. I go crazzy for smaltz
    herring. BTW over here it's called shmaltz herring.

    Steve,

        DEC Park 2 is in Reading (UK).

    Fred,

        Sorry, I ended up getting chopped herring! But it was delicious!

    A few of us this side of the Pond had a real binge on Monday lunchtime
    - what a way to go! - and there have been requests to repeat the
    "experience". If any of you guys in the US are planning a trip
    to the UK, let me know, and I'll arrange another one for while you're
    here (if you'll be in/near Reading, that is).

    Anyway, a good Pesach to one and all (no bagels for 8 days!
    Aarrrrggghh!)

    Susan.
