During the reciting of the answers to the 4 questions during Passover
we say '..when we were slaves in Egypt...' indicating not we a people but
we as individuals were actually there. I would like to see a similar
recitation mentioning our days in Europe during the 1930's and 1940's.
Although none of my family was in Europe during that time I feel that my
family and I were killed there.
I know that Passover commemorates a particular time and place and
miracle but so does the miracle of the defeat of the Germans and the
regaining of Israel.
By the way, have you noticed that no country since time immemorial
that had an oppressed Jewish population has ever amounted to much. It is
only a matter of time, and a short time as I see it, that the Soviet way
of life will be gone and forgotten.
