Subj: It's easy.
This is what you do.
GO to the nearest US missle silo. Go inside the silo launch pad area.
Take the adjustable wrench that you always carry with you
and slide it around the locking nut on the warhead. Remove the cover
from the top of the missile. then, begin to Remove
the warhead -- then clean your underwear. Nextly, slip inside the
rocket. Once inside, set the guidance system for the coordinates
of Boston (preferably Logan air-field). Next call the Kremlin
and tell Gorbachev he is a slime sucking pin head, the Birth
mark on his head looks ridiculous AND that Star Wars is
the best defense in the world and he is just
jealous.
. Next thing you know -- Blam !!
Your in Boston. You will, of course, be the only living
thing around, so live it up !!!

| Ok I will do it this way ... we will eliminate places/dates one
by one until there is one found that we can agree on.
Does anyone have a problem with January 31st ?
Please send me MAIL with January 31 as the subject
and YES or NO as the context.
I have a problem with the Brunch idea as I am
unfamiliar with the area and do not know where brunches
are served. So... how about if we make it a dinner ?
If so, then is the Genji Rest't ok ...? Friends who
work there tell me some sort of party arrangement
can be worked out so as to have a good value/$$ and
a fixed rate.
Michael
Oh, the Genji is on Newbury St in Boston ...

| January 31 is a Friday!!! Eriv Shabos and Shabos would be very
inconvenient for some of us. Perhaps the idea of a Sunday
(mid)morning brunch will draw a larger group. Just about any
hotel between Worcester and Boston has one of these brunches.
The prices range from $9 to $12 and are well worth the price.
Obviously the lower prices are close to Worcester.

| Oooops, it's 1986 isn't it ? Wrong calendar.
Sorry, How about the next night, Feb 1st. The
reason I am a little apprehensive about a brunch
is because of the food served there. If anyone can
find a hotel/res't that serves food we ALL want/can
eat then we will choose that one.
I know that the Marriot in Worcester has a good rep,
as does the Sheridan in Boxboro.
I still like the idea of the Genji because of
the food (I usually do not like eggs and breakfast foods.)
Actually, we can do both, but lets here it.
Please send MAIL.
Can You make it on Sat Feb 1st to Boston ?
" " " Sun Feb 2nd to Worcester ?
Michael
Is there anyone who HATES fish ?

| Now, Michael, I know that you went to Japan last year and are
fascinated by things Japanese...I even like the Genji...but it's kind
of useless as a meeting place. It's particularly difficult to park in
the area, lots of DECcies shrink in horror at the prospect of going
into Boston (they're wrong, of course, but that still limits the
people who'll show), and the Genji is not in any way set up as a place
to mingle. It's a lot easier to meet and start to get to know people
when you can mix and mingle, as opposed to sitting at a large dining
table.

So...... how about the brunch idea.
I have never been to Brookline, but if it is close
to anything in the way of BrooklYn; then I'm
all for meeting there.

| I never received original letter. What did it say ? i.e. who was invited
to what ?
From ensuing conversation, it sounds like it was merely a social gathering
invitation.
If so, I'd suggest a chinese restuarant with large round table. Or 33 Dunster
St., Harvard Square, which has the largest round table I've ever seen !
(no kidding, it's over ten feet diameter.
Reasons: round tables are nicest so everyone can be together and see each
other for easiest conversation. And chinese restuarants tend to have food
that most people can eat. 33 Dunster St. is not chinese but has a number
of veggie dishes as well as good salad bar. They feature Sunday brunch too
I'm fairly sure (we'd better verify this)

| Re: .8
33 Dunster St has a good Sunday brunch -- I don't know if they take
reservations, however.
Re: the whole thing
I personally eat almost food, except squid; however, the shomrei kashrut
(kosher-keepers) among us might feel more comfortable at a Kosher restaurant.
I don't feel that we should necessarily go to a Kosher restaurant just because
we're Jewish, but if enough people that would otherwise come wouldn't, maybe
we should consider it.

50.10 | | DELNI::GOLDSTEIN | | Wed Jan 08 1986 13:22 | 10 |
| If we had to make it a kosher restaurant, we wouldn't have many to
choose from! Brookline ain't Brooklyn in that respect! (Too bad;
Rubin's Deli is good but much too crowded. Haim's is sorta kosher
too, with separate milchig and fleischig sinks and slicers, but it
is small and not everybody likes it.)
I think near Boston is a good idea, though. I'm tired of driving out
to the sticks! Of course with my luck, it'll occur on a weekend when
I'm on the road.

Still, I am tired of finding a parking spot in B-place.
Are there any people who only eat Kosher food ??
There is talk of it, but have not heard anyone say they
only eat Kosher food.

| 33 Dunster St sounds good to this man. (It's reachable by car or
public trans., not impossible to park on a Sunday, and a variety of
things to quaff and chew.)
Go for it, Michael.

like a good idea, as long as I don't have to drive :-). I don't mind
driving in Cambridge (it was a big step) but I mind trying to park there.

May I respectfully suggest the Sheraton in Boxboro ?
It is centrally located and no problem parking for Sunday Brunch.

than Boston. I've been there several times and there is plenty of room. If
we want to sit together someone will have to make reservations (Mike).

I will make reservations as soon as we all agree on
a date and as soon as I am allowed to walk around again
in the outside world.
How about if you all send me dates you can NOT make it.
(Thank you for the responses I have already received
but please submit again.)

Here's what the story is...
I called the Sheraton/ Boxboro and they said..
"We only take reservations for parties of eight or more.
and we add on a 15% gartuity charge for the whole thing"
I made reservations for eight at 10:30 am on Sunday
so if we can get eight people by Friday noon, fine
otherwise I will call them and cancel the reservations
and we can just meet there and hope to get a seat
together.
