| I'm looking into going to the Sanibel Harbour resort in June.
I have sent for a brochure and asked about rooms on the phone.
Without questioning about dicounts, the 2 bedrooms were going
@$219/n. I have some discounts I can use, (hotel club, AAA, ect)
if I decide to go there.
I want a resort for some R+R. Has someone been there in the past
year? Is it still a pleasant experience?
Any other Fla resorts to suggest?

I haven't been to Sanibel Harbour specifically as I live in the area. That
being said, I think that most anyplace you go on Sanibel you'll get your R&R.
The entire island is a step back into rest and relaxation. Many folks use
bicycles as their transportation choice. The main thoroughfare is a slow 2
lane road that's pretty busy, though the speeds are low.
I guess I'd describe Sanibel as Cape Cod about 20 years ago... You are
never more than a mile from the beach. Most of the resorts have private
beaches. There is a national wildlife refuge, "Ding Darling", on the bay
side of the island that is loaded with local flora and fauna.
June is getting into the hot weather and wet season, but the density of
tourists should be down a bit. I don't know how much mosquito control they
have at that time of year, but considering the tourist rules on Sanibel my
guess is that it's as good or better than anyplace else in Lee County. Generally
the county does an excellent job of keeping the buggers at bay (they use
reproduction control mechanisms not bug killer)
Come on down. If your wallet can stand the pain, you'll have a great time.
