Does anyone know the politics behind the apparent rift between Billy Wright and combined Unionist Parties? What is the nature of the disagreement? M

I think that Mr Wright wants the Combined Loyalist Paramils to end their ceasefire and is basically being a bit too maverick in his approach for their liking.... I've probably over-simplified but I think that this is the overall picture.... Ray.... | |||||

..Hard to call this one...but it could spark a feud between UVF,UFF.UDA ..Red hand boys etc etc Publicity will stand to his effect and CLP may stand down on it rather than risk a feud. Nationalists in Mid ulster have long suspected and feared Mr Wright. He had got quite alot of support in Lurgan, Portadown area..Rev. Willie MC crea (an MP) spoke on the same stand as him the other night..which suggested an allignment of DUP to more extreeme elements on the Loyalist side. Then again Rev Willie is desperate..he will lose his seat next time if SF and SDLP make a pact in Mid Ulster.... |
