1539.0. "Irish Pub in Watertown - Yeats County" by STOWOA::COADY () Fri Jan 05 1996 16:03
A new Irish Pub has opened in School Street Watertown, near the Arsenal Mall.
Its called YEATS COUNTY (or is it COUNTRY) and is owned by someone from Sligo.
I checked it out last week, the people working there are friendly, mainly
Irish. It was very smoky, tho they barman (Brian) said they were having
teething problems with the extractors. The general clientel seemed to
be local people on the other side of 50 years; with Belmont and Arlington
dry towns (no pubs), they have a good catchment area.
Beer was good, good choices Guinness was OK+.
Music; YUK on that night it was horrible. It was a Irish Country and Western
band with Sythesisers(sp) that were way louder than the vocalists. Most of the
stuff the played, or tried to play was CRAP. I'll try it again on a quiet
night or a night with better music and see what its like.

| Should not the other 2 towns be called Watertown. Someone has got their
names mixed up.

| That's right down the street from the Canadian-American Club,
home of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann. Maybe they can get a few
musicians to wander in.
