Just read in the Globe that the Saw Doctors, from Tuam, are playing at the Irish Embassy pub in Boston on Tues, Wed & Thurs nite (28th-30th Nov). Haven't heard much from them lately, tho from the article it looks likey are doing very well in the UK.

Hey...funny coincidence, KeVin Burns in his "what's up with the Xmas Party" note mentioned he is going to see the Saw Doctors tomorrow (Tuesday) night! /jen

I may go, haven't seen Kevin in a long time. I grew up in the greater Tuam area, (known as the Galway West region that voted NO for divorce). I know the N-17 well. Several of the Saw Docs went to High School with my brother. Could be fun

I was in NYC over the weekend and saw them on Saturday night. They were in fine form -- played and played and played. They are here apparently courtesy of Aer Lingus (a fact mentioned over and over again), who also gave away a pair of round-trip tickets to Ireland at the end of the night. It's a bit of a contest -- if they pull your name and you've answered the trivia question correctly (hint: had something to do with the N-17) you've won. (Alas, I didn't. Win that is.) Nancy |
