1521.0. "Intel" by TALLIS::DARCY (Alpha Migration Tools) Wed Oct 25 1995 15:49

    Anyone know where the new billion dollar Intel plant
    is going to be built in Ireland? And am I the only
    one wondering if they are biting off more than they
    should, in investing in 3 new advanced fabs (Israel,
    Ireland, & US). It will cost them billions. (Not that
    they don't have it - I realize that).

    Hmmmmm,

    c'mon George...you know INTEL RULES the semi market. A new plant of
    this magnatiude will take 3 years to be operational and by that time
    their Leixlip (sp?) plant will be obsolete and ready to be replaced by
    the next generation!

    4600 will make them the largest foreign employer in Ireland,
    won't it? I'm happy for Ireland as it will help employment.
    And strange as it may seem, it's good from Digital's standpoint
    to see Intel spending all that money!
