1477.1 | It's the stuff inside the boots that's different | BELFST::LURGAN::hanna | Dermot Hanna | Thu Jun 01 1995 15:40 | 21 |
| Most gaelic footballers "look" for a boot with a solid toe but it
is impossible to find such a boot in the shops (my recent experience!).
In answer to your question then there is no difference.
If you are interested I have a pair for sale, hardly used but there
does appear to be a fault with them in that they don't seem to be
able to put the ball over the bar the way my previous pair did. Don't
suppose this could be anything to do with me........no it couldn't be.
For any fotball fans out there who do you think "Sam Maguire" will be
visiting in Ulster this year? It is a pity that no-one seems to be able
to compete with the Ulster teams these days. Maybe if we allowed the
other teams to field two teams at once, or maybe Ulster teams should
tie one hand behind their backs, or maybe play blindfolded or.......
Dermot :-)
PS I am an Antrim man so who agrees with me that Antrim can win both
football and hurling titles this year. Suppose I would just be happy
if we could win a championship game in football.

| Dermot,
Stick to rugby! I know that you are a good rugby player.
I think most GAA players nowadays just buy soccer boots.
The Sam Maguire may well go north again.
Best regards,
Ken Hanly

| Ken,
Best of luck in the States!!! I don't know how you will survive
without the SBRT's. I was going to say break a leg but you probably
wouldn't find that funny. Did you ever play any GAA yourself? I know
that you can handle yourself at the soccer and that you played rugby.
Good Luck
Dermot
PS Will you be able to keep up with the Championship over there. If
not I will try and keep you updated from this side.
