I am looking for the titles of any books by Ernest Gebler which were
(or are still) banned in Ireland? He was at one time the husband of
Edna O'Brien FYI.

I don't want to start a rathole here but what are the criteria for a
book being banned in Ireland ?
(I presume they'd only be banned in the south... :-) )

Lord don't start me !...criteria fo banning a book in the south!....
Author doesn't worship the catholic church, mention Sex,drugs or rock and
roll...-) -) -)
seriously. Not as bad as it was ..But the above criteria were not far
off around the time the authors mentioned in the base note were writing
Only serious banning now is on information on pregnancy
termination (ie abortion)..(its not only banned here but getting
INFORMATION ie phone numbers of clinics outside the state.)..Yes you
can be locked away..
