| The Paul McCartney tune was called "Mull of Kintyre". It was the best
selling single of 1977 according to the BBC, but that was only because
they refused to recognise (play) the Sex Pistols version of "God Save the
Queen" which actually outsold McCartney's dreck.
Now for extra points can anybody recall the lyrics of the Sex Pistols
version. If you could post them here, then we could decide if the Beeb
were being unduly censorious. This would prove conclusively that the BBC
are indeed the mouth-piece of the UK Establishment.
Joe ( in a s**t stirring mood ).

What makes you say that Dennis? I can't say I'm very well acquainted
with this rock stuff - though Sid and Nancy is a cult classic. Perhaps
you could elucidate?

I did miss it, I confess, but then I rarely spend much effort trying to
make sense of Mr Holohan's notes. Now I understand I am hardly surprised.
If one believes that all of the RUC, MI5 and police personnel aboard
the helicopter were involved in collusion with the UFF/UVF/UDA etc,
and actively target innocent Catholics themselves, one can understand
the grisly logic of applauding their death. And it isn't the first time
Mr Holohan has made such a remark either.

| You know since there are people like me who don't get to use the
computer all that much, you shouldn't set notes hidden. So we don't
know what the H*LL you are talking about.

| Some notes that exhibited a rather childish glee upon the deaths of so
many members of the Northern Ireland security forces in a helicopter
crash in Scotland were set hidden by the moderator.
