1354.0. "Galway Newspapers" by TALLIS::DARCY (Alpha Migration Tools) Thu Mar 24 1994 14:03

Are there other Galway newspapers besides the Connacht Tribune?
If so, do they service different areas? Just curious.

There's a couple of free-sheets as well such as the Galway Advertiser
(which has very one or two good local chat columns and the rest ads)
The Word (covers nightclubs arts & ents, aimed at students and the
like, cover splurge is usually "Europe's only guide to the Galway
    Entertainment Scene!!")

In Connaught there's also the Connaught Telegraph (Printed in Castlebar
I think), Tuam Herald, Western People (Printed in Ballina).

Joe: I think he might be looking for one of those "underground" type
free papers with the classified ads in the back section ;-)

"Young Irish Speaking Stud with German Sports Car seeks Irish Female
with strong legs and a good sense of humor. Must have own boat and
ability to bait hooks is highly desirable. Please include a recent
photo of your boat when replying."

    Re .2

Oh, you mean like the ad in the Rosmuc Herald: "wanted, goat, for
    loving relationship".
