I would like some information on Kevin Barry...of the Ballad 'Kevin
Barry' fame. Some background information like where he was from, how old he
was when he was hung, was he married etc., would be appreciated.

Gerry, I don't have much more info than the ballad...
He was 18 years old, single and a medical student at UCD. He was
involved in a raid against a British Army party during which three
soldiers were killed. He was subsequently captured on 20 September,
1920 and sentenced to hang.
Over 5,000 people said the rosary and sang hymns outside Mountjoy
before he was hanged.
