1203.0. "complaint/gripe" by TUXEDO::MOREY () Wed Mar 24 1993 10:25

    	As a reader of this Celtic Notes file....I have one big
    	complaint....no matter what the subject, there is always
    	those that answer with some kind of remark about a pint
    	guiness, a pub and so on.....I don't want to be a prude
    	and have no objection against this kind of foolery...but
    	one do they have to interject it in subjects that people
    	are asking for help or information....as pretty soon the
    	subject has been pushed aside and the info or questions
    	never do get answered.

    	I love the Celtic note file....and I love fun too, but
    	not when someone is trying to obtain information on
    	a subject that is serious.

    	Just my 2 cents worth!

    	Mary

    Apologies if I am an offender. Next time you are in England give me a
    call and I will make up for it by getting you a pint of the black
    stuff.

    ok ok I know it was predictable...........

1203.2While we're on the topic of Pints ......HILL16::BURNSANCLRThu Mar 25 1993 10:0112

    	The proper spelling is Guinness.

1203.3not really; its just a plain PINTCTHQ::COADYThu Mar 25 1993 10:366

    actually its not, in Ireland all you ask for is a PINT and you get
    Guinness, except in thecounty that serves dog-rub topped with shaving
    cream.

1203.4I'd kill for a Pint of Porter !!!HILL16::BURNSANCLRThu Mar 25 1993 11:4314

    	So , how was the trip home Gerry ??

    	I suppose you had a pint or two yourself !!

1203.5Good radio....CSLALL::KSULLIVANThu Mar 25 1993 13:3212
    You'd best be careful....remember the last contributor who's grapes
    were treated less than seriously, went off and started his own
    notesfile, leaving everyone involved here feeling empty and shallow.

    And you all know that both of them are correct.

    By the way, does anyone ever listen to the Howard Stern show?

1203.6A good example of my gripe!TUXEDO::MOREYThu Mar 25 1993 14:012
    well......a typical example of what I was complaining/griping
    about.....Note 1203.4!
1203.7Life's too short to drink bad wine .....HILL16::BURNSANCLRThu Mar 25 1993 14:227

    Shouldn't that be "Life's too short IF you drink bad wine!"

1203.9Don't try to change the subject .... ;-)HILL16::BURNSANCLRThu Mar 25 1993 15:129

    The social scene in Ireland includes sharing pints. Of course if you
    don't like the drink, you could walk to Salthill and work on that tan.
1203.11On a clear day you can see Ballyvaughan !!ACTGSF::BURNSANCLRFri Mar 26 1993 13:474

    	Or you could sit outside Lonergan's and work on both !!!	:-)

1203.12On a clear day things can still be blurred....CSLALL::KSULLIVANFri Mar 26 1993 15:552
    Don't miss the Howard Stern show tonight.
