1199.0. "Don't always help strangers !"" by CTHQ::COADY () Sun Mar 21 1993 13:10
Heard this last week; the story teller swears its true; so it must be.
Scene -
An island off Galway ( Innisboffin), no police force and famous for afterhours,
late Sunday nite or Monday am in a pub, 1 hr before last boat. Two men are in
the loo ( toilet ) and see a poor guy on the floor flat out from the drink. They
wonder what to do and the check his pocket and see he lives in Galway, They
decided to be good citizens and wake him up for the boat. They couldn't
resurrect him, so they carried him to the boat. Same thing in Galway, the guy
was wiped, so they decided to take him home - checked the address in his
drivers license.
Anyway they arrived at the address at say 7 am ( seemingly this boat just gets
in on time for Monday work !). They decided that one guy should go to the door
and check it out, before they "presented" their 'alive corpse'. Well after
10 mins an old lady answered and he asked if " Tommy xxxxx" lives here ?"
Her response was :
" Well he did, but he is not here now .......
He got married last Saturday and he is on his honeymoon in Innisboffin"
The next boat didn't leave for a week ... I liked it :=).
