Wow, welcome to Beantown! For starters you must learn how to drive
erratically, drop your r's from your sentences, and bring your woolen
mittens (it was cold this winter!).
There are many good communities along Route 128. Ideally, you want to
be close enough to Boston to visit, but far enough away from the
problems of the big city. Don't know exactly what you're looking for
- maybe you can be more specific as to the number of rooms, size of
yard, access to Boston, etc. But a few nice town/cities would be
Newton, Lexington, Needham, Arlington, Winchester, Belmont, Waltham
(where I live), etc.
No go areas would be Charlestown, Chelsea, Revere, Lynn, Cambridge,
Allston, Brighton, and many other areas of Boston unless of course
you like living in the city. Mind you, they are densely populated and
you are not likely to have much of a yard...
Average property rents for apartments in city/towns along Route 128
would range from a low of $550 per month for a one bedroom apartment
to a high of $950 for a 2/3 bedroom apartment. Again, there is much
variation due to location. Expect $650 for a 2 bedroom apartment in
Waltham.
Houses usually rent anywhere from $850 upwards to $1300 per month for
a typical house with 2/3 bedrooms and 1 baths. A small ranch with
3 bedrooms in Waltham might rent for $1100.
Hope this helps. Call us for a pint when you get here.

| Thanks for the info. There will be three of us moving, my husband, me
and our 15 month old son. We would be looking for somewhere to live
that would be safe, especially for our son. I would like a house with
a bit of a yard, but I would settle for a apartment at first until
we get settled.
Thanks, Tony about the info about the Boston notefile, I have added it
to my account.
