A chairde,
Below is a list of newsletters and newspapers of interest to learners
of Irish. I sent off letters asking for subscription rates to all
those listed below, as well as asking for a sample copy. Those thay
I have received replies from are detailed below. If you have any info
on the others, please pass it on.
I am always looking for more info on "irisi/ na Gaeilge." If you know
of others, please let me know.

They sent me "Iml. 9 Uimh. 10, 7-8 Samhain '92" as a sample copy.
Newspaper format, 16 pages, colorful. Seems to have a little bit of
everything. Most too advanced for me.
I found and old article on GAELIC-L that said if you metion GAELIC-L
in your subscription request, you can get it in the USA for #50. I haven't
confirmed that this is still in effect.
If you are more intested in getting materials to read than
you are in getting timely news, you might be interested in this reply
to a letter I sent. It is from Jane Farnon at Anois:
"The most cost-efficient way to send copies of ANOIS to you is to send
five issues at a time via Surface Mail. (The annual postage for this
actually words out cheaper that four quarterly installments.) This
annual subscription would cost #30. If this offer is of interest to you,
I can initiate your subscription as soon as I receive payment by sending
you the 5 most recent issues of our paper.
If you are aware of anyone else who would also like to start this type of
subscription, I would be very grateful if you would pass along this
information, and would be delighted to oblige any other prospective
subscribers."

They sent 4 copies in reply to my request for a sample, each
24 - 28 pages. They include short stories, biographic articles,
book reviews, etc. Regular items include: poems, crossword puzzles,
and a short look at some aspect of the language. Nicely done, but
my Irish isn't up to it yet.
