I am planning next summer holiday and those plans include travelling by car to Scotland and Ireland. I have visited Ireland two times so I know a bit, but about Scotland any info would be greatly appreciated. Keeping in mind that I like celtic music, pubs and good atmosphere. And not forgetting something good to drink. Ferry comes first to Newcastle, but after that..??? Hannu

>Ferry comes first to Newcastle, but after that..??? Newcastle's not in Scotland, but there are passenger-carrying freighters plying the North Sea between Edinburgh and Scandinavian countries. I went from Edinburgh (Leith actually) to Aalborg in Denmark in 1967 for about $27. They had two cabins and the food was absolutely wonderful. It was a Danish vessel. Ask around. |
