1154.0. "Clannad and VW" by TALLIS::DARCY () Fri Dec 11 1992 01:08

    Anyone see the latest VW ad for passats in the US?
    I think they play a Clannad track in the background.
    That's the first time I've heard Clannad doing ads.

    Here in the U.K. (whether it's united anymore or not, I suppose is
    debatable), a lot of programmes and adverts use the music of ENYA (Brennen)
    who, in case anyone doesn't know, is the sister of Moira and Ciaran
    Brennen of Clannad. ENYA has a new album out at the moment, it's a
    re-release of an old album commissioned by the BBC for a programme
    called "The Celts". I didn't see this so can't say whether it was any
    good or not.

1154.4I've heard it too.KITVS::VONSUCKWed Dec 23 1992 09:266
    I too have see/heard the Passat add, all week. Sounds like Enya at
    least, if not Clannad.

    It's is Clannad, singing "Harry's Game."

    Consider VW's are German, I was wondering if they figured that any
    foreign language song would sound appropriate, even if it wasn't
    German.
