No wonder Joe Drotter wont fill in an introduction note. He is sulking over
Cork!!!!
Yes I enjoyed myself (and the game). It was a miserable wet day with a lot of
wind. It was very difficult to play good hurling. Kilkenny adapted better to
the conditions. They also were the hungrier side.
Kilkenny faced the wind and rain in the first half. They managed to keep Cork
a 2 point margain at half time. A great defensive effort and making use of
every half chance kept Kilkenny in touch. Thus they were in an excellent
position at half time.
Second half started with a huge pust by Kilkenny and it looked like Cork Would
be overwhelmed. However -fair play to Cork- They kept plugging away and it was
still touch and go with 10 minutes remaining. Then A goal by Liam McCarthy
wrapped it up.
Thus the new Liam McCarthy cup comes back to Kilkenny. It was made in Kilkenny
and we like it so much we plan to keep it.
It is also worth noting that when Kilkenny last won the hurling Dublin won the
football. Is this a bad omen for Donegal?

I am NOT sulking!
Just as soon as I get through sticking pins in this Voodoo doll of
Kilkenny goalee Michael Walsh, I'll put one in. ;^>
BTW Mbr, you wouldn't happen to be related to Jamsie Brennan would you?!
It should have been a free-out, not a penalty!
Just remember Mbr: The Nore-siders won't be back next year, but
*MIGHTY* Cork will!

Not a pretty site is our Marty today, the Smithwicks went down well
obviously. The jackeens don't stand a chance, Donegal have it wrapped
up before they start -). Wee Daniel will be there, singing along.
No problem for the men from Donegal.
Peter.

Oh No If daniel is there even the cats and dogs will disappear from around
Croker.
Joe, did you pick up that voodoo doll in OZ. It obviously works in reverse.
As I said before about the new McCarthy cup. WE MADE IT WE WON IT AND WE
INTEND TO KEEP IT,.
As an aside there was a wonderful display in Croke Park on Saturday evening
by Michael "Ducksie" Walsh. He took his EIGHT All Ireland in a row. Some feat.
He is only 26 years old so he will be around for another 10 at least. The sport
is of course handball. Thats real handball - not that crap played in the
Olympics.

Well cork finally saw off wexford...Despite cork having a player sent
off..and rightfully so. Wexford should have won this one and will
hope for better in the championship.
Limerick were beaten by Clare which is shocking enough until you see
Kerry beating Waterford in hurling. Clare play cork next and Kerry have
a day out against Tipp.
Good odds to be got on Clare to win both football and hurling in Munster.
less on Tipp winning both and lesser still on the Pope marrying
sinead o Connor.
slainte,
Mick
