Subj:	Greetings from first GAO Alpha System !

Greetings from first GAO Laser Alpha System - GRUBY1 !

The system is running Ruby Console T1.0 and Alpha BL6.

We built the SCSI system disk using a Neptune system and an infoserver.

We received our first Aplha CPU today 23-Mar-1992.

We had to add some bits and pieces from BXB to the system disk and booted the
system at 11am.

The network started without a hitch.

We hope to have (2) systems ready for field service by the weekend.

Thanks to all the GAO, BXB, COM and NIO laser teams for their help in getting
here.

Ray.

PS: Please forward this on to those I have forgotten.

SUBJ: DEC 7000 (Laser Ruby) FRS

Today, GAO shipped the first DEC 7000 (Laser/Ruby) system. The DEC
No. is 93088039V and the customer is MIT Lincoln Labs.

This is the first Alpha based system to ship from GAO.

This is the result of over two years of combined Manufacturing and
Engineering efforts. The manufacturing team was drawn from GAO, COM
and NIO with support from several other facilities and functions.
I would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution in
    achieving this success.

    Regards,

    Mike.
