NASHUA, NH - (AP) - A number of pigs escaped from a local abattoir on
two occasions recently. Local authorities tried in vain to recapture
the porkers with an accompaning cacophony of squealing and grunts, the
pigs made a lot of noise too.
Workers from a nearby Digital Equipment facility were interviewed
but they were unaware of the activities, however they did admit that they
heard a fracas which one worker said sounded like bagpipes.
It is believed that the porcine beasts made good their escape
towards the mighty Merrimac River where they found a coracle. Unidentified
witnesses downstream have confirmed that they have seen and heard a
floating object in the river from which emanated strange squeaking and
shreiking noises, not unlike bagpipes.
Authorities are hoping to recapture the bacon purveyors as they
cross into Massachusetts, as that State has very strict laws against
bagpipe playing (a capital offence).

It's my co-worker Ross Faneuf (funny, it doesn't sound Celtic). I'm still
waiting for his rendition of _Lady of Spain_ on the pipes.

Obviously you haven't heard an expert playing the bagpipes. In my
humble opinion "do bagpipes and shrieking pigs sound alike?", I think
NOT!

that's funny you mentioning that, graeme...
because as the pipes were playing at the highland festival
on saturday, it was overheard by someone as to who was
killing the sheep.
its just the quaintness of the times....or the thinness of the
air.
