Lecture scheduled on Irish History
NEWTON - The Irish Ancestral Research Association known as Tiara will
hold a program and business meeting on Friday, April 12, at 7:30 pm.
The meeting will be held in room 307, Higgins Hall, Boston College,
located on Commonwealth Ave., in Chestnut Hill near Brighton - Newton
border [in Massachusetts USA].
"A look at Irish history through lithographs" will be presented by John
McGuire, past president of the Eire Society. Mr. McGuire's collection
is comprised of works printed in Ireland between 1850 and 1900 that
were prepared for export to be sold to recent emigrees for use in their
new homes. Along with the lithographs, Mr. McGuire will be displaying
a portion of his vast collection of books on Irish history and culture.
The association is an organization of amateur, family and professional
researchers who meet to exchange information about Irish family
history. Meetings are held on the second Friday evening of each month
except July and August. There is no admission charge and the public is

as I don't have the announcement with me, but she is a professor at
Northeastern Univ.
