    Mrs. Robinson has announced that she will not stand for re-election,
    which is a pity as, unlike the previous waster, she made a bloody good
    job of it. I'll vote for Dustin the Turkey, (Fianna Fowl), if he stands
    this time round...

    ykw would run, were it not for Ben Dunne. I suppose Albert the
    Peacemaker will get out his handkerchief, cry a few tears, and allow
    Bertie to persuade him. Don't see any Lab candidates in sight, unless
    NI could produce someone. Austin Currie again for FG.

    My book (this is not an offer to bet)

    5/4 Albert Reynolds
    7/4 Austin Currie
    2/1 labour candidate
    100/1 David Trimble
    200/1 John Taylor

    Special Bet 7/1 Jack Charlton with a run

    Could be Albert...but FF got a burnt a bit last time round...

    Seemingly mary annoyed the vatican boys by not 'dressing properly' when
    she met the Pope. I liked those Doc martins myself

887.6Dustin gets my vote too.ILOV05::KILBANEThu Mar 13 1997 04:178

    Garret Fitzgerald could be a Fine Gael candidate and a possible winner.
    Word has it that one of the Andrews Brothers, David I think, could be in
    for Fianna Fail.

    Mary R is tipped for a top UN post, probably Human Rights Commissioner.

887.7Dustin who?MKTCRV::KMANNERINGSThu Mar 13 1997 06:5113
    johnny Hume was on morning Ireland saying he is a non runner. David
    Andrews has been mentioned. How does FF decide these things?

    Didn't Garret turn it down last time? Bad
    heart etc?

    Who is Dustin the turkey?

    Hope Mary gets a human rights job. She is very skilled at putting
    things on the agenda which others would like to see left off.

    I dont believe it Kevin, not knowing who Dustin (Hoffman)the Turkey is.

    Star of the Den and Number 1 single hit maker with Bob Geldof on "rAT
    tRAP".and Christmas Album "UNPLUCKED", Dustin in the last Presedential
    Election was a candidate and polled more votes than Austin Currie
    in Ballymun electoral area, around 136 votes I believe.

    C'mon, Kevin, you must have heard of Dustin ;>)
