820.0. "EAST CORK looking for industry" by TALLIS::DARCY () Wed Oct 24 1990 16:36

The East Cork Enterprise Group has been established to create
employment in the East Cork area and to help stem the tide of
emigration.

They have a three-pronged programme looking to

  1) Attract outside industry
  2) Encourage local entrepreneurs
  3) Provide management support to specialist skilled people

Specifically, they are searching to
  1) Identify companies or buyers who would be interested in Irish products
  2) Identify companies or individuals with a project earmarked for Europe
  3) Identify technology or developments which can be transferred to Europe

The Enterprise Group is committed to promoting East Cork as a centre
of enterprise development. They have a full-time staff of 14, a newly
renovated Centre, and are willing to talk to anybody interested in the
East Cork area.

If interested please contact Mort Murphy at 353-21-667273.

    	Gerry,
                Tobinn makes a distinction between Corkonians from the city
    	and outside. The full quote is " Corkmen outside the City of Cork are
    	just Kerrymen with shoes".

    	PS. The two cups are making a visit to Boston next month. You may
            get to see then on your next trip. You won't see then in
    	    Galway.

    Absolutely, spot on!

    When will these people from Galway realize, there are only two kinds of
    people in the world: Those that hail from Cork, and those that wish
    they did?!! :->

    Easy on Joe, there are also those who hail from Dublin.

    Some years ago I bought some bibs for the kids and one said

    "When God made the world he made the Irish number 1"

    Nice to hear you around these parts.
