<<Canadian American Club, Arlington St. Watertown
Being only a two hour drive from my home in Almonte to Watertown,
what would I miss if I didn't show up? And who should I contact
if I did show up?
Do you have to be a Canadian-American, or an American-Canadian, or
just a Canadian, or just an American?

| If you can sing "Oh Canada" like Rene Rancourt does, they let
you into the Canadian American Club.

796.3 | On what street is Watertown? | KAOM25::RUSHTON | Unscathed by inspired lunacy | Thu Aug 30 1990 10:56 | 13 |
| Watertown, NY is about 30 miles south of the Canada-USA border at
Gananoque, Ontario (Thousand Island Bridge) on I81.
Next question...where is Gananoque, Ontario? About 120 Km (note the
change to metric when talking about things Canadian) south-west of
Ottawa (the capital of Canada). Or putting it another way, Gananoque
is about 250 Km east of Toronto, or about 200 Km south-west of Oka.
Out with the maps...Watertown is at 42N, 75W

Never seen CND...CDN is the internationally accepted abbreviation that
may be used on a vehicle to identify the registered owner as being
Canuck. I just use a beaver 8*)

796.6 | Where is Watertown, anyway!!!! | SLSTRN::MANNING | | Tue Sep 04 1990 13:06 | 8 |
| The reference is, of course, to Watertown, Massachusetts, my adopted
home for nigh on 40 years. Not as pleasant as Cork but one cannot have
everything!!!! The Canadian_American Club is on Arlington Street, a
good 15 min. walk from my house. The club is very popular among Irish
organizations in the Boston area for holding periodic functions, e.g.,
the Kerry Club holds its annual banquet there. Nice hall, good drinks,
good people - the walls are decorated with the coats of arms of the
Canadian provinces.

| <<The reference is, of course, to Watertown, Massachusetts...
DAMN!!!! No wonder I couldn't find the club. Here I was
driving all over Watertown, NEW YORK asking for the
whereabouts of a non-existing club. It's a good thing
that I had to got to Watertown, NY to wash my hair anyway,
otherwise it would have been a wasted trip.

That's nothing,KeVin...sure most people in Clare still think the
McCarthy Cup...was a prize given to people who informed on communist
sympathisers back in the 50's.

| keVin, I don't think they want me in Mass. for awhile as they
keep cancelling my courses (was it something I said, the way I
comb my bald patches, the Guinnness on my breath?). However,
the next opportunity to get to the Marlboro area is sometime
in October.
Still game for a six-pack of Brador?

Ah, keVin, the foliage here is fanatastic until around

This seemed like as good a note as any:
Just had to say that Friday's Ceili in Norwood was fun! And all the
rumours are true: George Darcy is just a dancing fool! Why, I've
never seen anything like it....at last check Julie was still looking
for one of her shoes. :^)
