A little respect please, 1 July is Canada Day. That's when all self-respecting
Canucks drink Molson Ukranian and smash the empties on their foreheads, eh!

Oh Boy! Another "opportunity" to dodge polar bears and penguins up
here in the Great White North in a fruitless search for Paddy's country
    estate.

During the last expedition, I drove back and forth down Paddy's road
at exponentially increasing speeds (out of frustration) looking for a
"great big white sign" that turned out to be the size of a postage
stamp hung 60 feet up a tree behind a squirrel's nest.

I assume this time there will be a personal escort service.

    Re: -.1

Please....I must defend the directions. If I could find the place,
coming from R.I., with my sense of direction (or lack thereof), and
all those red lights....it couldn't have been that bad!

Perhaps it was because John sent me the aerial map and homing device!

Yeah, Frank, and you know what?! Paddy is probably going to roll out
that SAME old, stale, keg of Old Milwaukee beer (or was it LITE?!)
    he had last year. ;^)

Hi Joe...One might have thought the EPA would have impounded that keg
by now. It's probably moving around Paddy's cellar on its own power.
Stephen King is probably writing a book about it...The Lager That Lived.

OK Burnsie, I'll need them dyrections again. I'll be out back hookin'
    up the sled dogs.

776.8Not far from "Downtown" Pelham ... :-)HILL16::BURNSShow your legs to the country manWed Jun 27 1990 11:3015

In all honesty, there is no way that I can provide directions
to anyone that is coming up from Massachusetts. I don't know
the exit numbers or the road names down in that area.

I think Paddy was just foolin' when he said to ask me for
directions. I highly recommend that people contact Paddy
directly via mail, (which he reads on occasion) for complete directions.
or maybe the "dink" will post a map in here like he should have
        done a long time ago .. :-)

776.9or a case of Brasdor...KAOM25::RUSHTONUnscathed by inspired lunacyWed Jun 27 1990 11:4815
With all of the past references to 'sled dogs', 'penguins', 'polar bears'
and 'the Great White North' there is an excellent chance that some of you
may reach the real Great White North without that map.

Now, I'm not adverse to having you guys attempt to cross the border, BUT
NOT ON 1 JULY!! There's only so much Molson Ukranian available and you
ain't gettin' none.

To keep the peace, I could bring down a case of 'real' Moosecrotch (or is
it another part of the moose anatomy) beer the next time I'm down there.

Any takers?

Pat

After doing some checking, I find that note 525.9 contains
some dubious directions to the Culbert Farm !!

525.9 is interesting also along with note 598.* :-)

    Directions:

Take 93 N get off on exit 2 (Salem) go with the flow (rt)
off the exit when you come to a set of lights (about 400 yards)
take a rt. You will come to another set of lights (about 1/2 mile)
take another rt. This is RT 38 blast down that road about 6 miles
ant you will come to yet another set of lights take a rt. (on the
green signal) and follow this road to Pelham center (a four way
stop about 1/2 mile). Take a rt. at the stop sign and follow this
to Simpson Rd on the LEFT (about 1/2 mile) take this left and go
down Simpson Rd 1/2 mile the party will be in the Yellow house on
the hill. The name CULBERT is on the mail box 8*).

It will be starting about two and go to whatever? Last year
we were in the middle of a session at 2am if that tells you anything.
There will be a major sound system blasting Christy Moore and others

I'll have plenty of food and beer( if we run out we collect some
money and off to the market we go for more). Fire works will be at 9 on
the dot. bonfire to follow then we get down to serious sessions
    and crack.

The only thing you need is a lawn chair and your voice and an
instrument if you care to join the session with something besides
    your singing.

Paddy (almost as good as my name), sorry can't make it down for
the session (I have to wash my hair) but I will be around Westboro
on 17-19 July and 23-29 July (hell, even my wife will be here on the
second trip and she likes beer). Thanks for the offer.

If you don't get the match on TNT, it WILL be on TSN here in the GWN.
I'll be taping it so you can get a copy when I come down in July.

Here's up 'em all! Says the.......

Here's what I can do to please all of you who want some heady brew.
The following are great tasting, Canadian and high in alcohol:

	Labatts Extra Stock 6.5% alcohol
	Brador 6.2%

I don't think I'll be allowed to take this stuff on the DEC charter unless
I put the cases in some other container, but that's my problem. I suspect
that I would be allowed to stow them in the exterior storage compartment
and US Customs will allow that amount into the US. I could easily bring
down two 12-packs (one of each type of beer) and you guys could find some
very weak excuse to get together and quaff a few brew.

The first opportunity I'll have to get down to MA is 17 July. I'll be
at the Westboro Marriott from noon that day until Wednesday PM 19 July.
The next opportunity will be 23-29 July, same place.

So wadda ya say, eh?

Pat (who is about to have a pint of Dragon at noon)

    All-in-all, a fantastic time!!

And, Good News - there's a new pub in town!! Not officially opened for
business yet, but it looks like a place where many a great will be
consumed and the music will never cease - called the Peter Rd. Pub!!!

Can't wait until it officially opens - hell I could even get over there

    Lorelei,

Hasn't anyone told you?!! One of the basic tenets of being IRISH
is expressed in one of their witicisms, and that is:

There are no strangers at an Irish party, only friends you
    *haven't met* yet!

So, come and meet these friends you haven't met yet, and enjoy
    yourself!!
