I would like to get the the words, all the verses, to Molly Malone.

I know the first verse but not the rest of it.

    Thanks very much,

14.2 doesn't seem to be the original text to me...

If you can wait 1 (one) day, I'll bring the real text with me.

In Dublin's Fair City where the girls are so pretty ,
I first set my eyes on Sweet Molly Malone ,
As she wheeled her wheel barrow through streets broad and narrow,
Crying 'Cockles and Muscles' alive-alive-oh .

    CH: Alive-alive-oh , alive-alive oh ,
        Crying 'Cockles and Muscles' alive-alive-oh

She was a fishmonger and sure 'twas no wonder ,
For so were her Mother and Father before ,
And they wheeled their wheel barrows through streets broad and narrow,
Crying 'Cockles and Muscles' alive-alive-oh .

    CH:

She died of a fever and no-one could save her ,
And that was the end of Sweet Molly Malone ,
Now her ghost wheels her barrow through streets broad and narrow,
Crying 'Cockles and Muscles' alive-alive-oh .

    CH:

    - Might not be 'exactly' right but that's the version I get around
to after one two many of the amber nectar :-)

    Hey keVin,
Where do you get them????? "Do Chickens have McNuggets???"

Only a McScottish McMind could come up with such a McQuestion!!!

    Thanks, everyone.

Even you, keVin. The Dubliners will be so impressed when after they
thought the song was over, the drunken American (on only 2 Irish poured
Guinness pints 'cause I'm not used to them) starts singing the version
found in 14.2!! Probably off tune, too! ;-)

'Course when I mention your name as the influence that caused me to
sing out the un-traditional version they'll probably say "ye poor lad,
you've been talking to keVin Burns of Boston, have ya? I'm not sure we
    can make you right............"! ;-)

730.9Beware of being aware.....Ha!PENUTS::KSULLIVANFri Mar 23 1990 09:054
Wonderment rains richly, JO'R manages two whole paragraphs without any
mention of the dog, Magpie (?). keVin succumbs to pressure and changes
his node then garbs himself in Pogue imagery. All this with Easter just
    around the corner......
730.10I MIGHT even let you borrow them sometime .. :-)HILL16::BURNSFair Play To You ...Fri Mar 23 1990 09:2713

730.11Poor Guinness - he should be in every one of my notes.......AUSTIN::OREILLYEire in '90 or '91Fri Mar 23 1990 16:3915
    Addition to reply 730.5:

And, then I'd tell these Dubliners that I had a dog named Guinness and
they'd really think I'd lost it......

(Guinness: sorry I forgot to mention you in that last note - I'll never
    do it again!)

Sullivan: speaking of aware - where the heck did you get 'magpie' from
    - how could you forget a dog's name like Guinness??!!
