Did anyone see the Irish Festival broadcast on RTE from the Toronto Skydome on 18 March? It was broadcast in Canada on TSN (The Sports Network) with Ger Canning as the commentator. Very exciting to see hurling and Gaelic football being played in Canada. The Canadian Gaelic Athletic Association organized the events and two supermarket chains (A & P, and Dominion) sponsored them. I'm not sure of the teams (I'll have to view the tape again) but the hurling match was between Tipperary and the Irish All-stars. Whereas the football match was between Dublin and (I think) the All-stars. If anyone is interested, I taped the entire proceedings and I can provide an NTSC copy on either Beta or VHS. If anyone wants a PAL version, let me know. Pat |
