Hi, Just a note to state that the Irish folk band the Wolfe Tones are currently celebrating 25 years of performing together. Any and all fans of the band may want to be on the lookout for two new items... A double album: Wolfe Tones 25th Anniversary This is mostly a greatest hits album, newly recorded, but there are 8 songs not previously available (in America anyway I think) A concert video: The 25th Anniversary Concert (in Glasgow) -Randy

> A concert video: The 25th Anniversary Concert (in Glasgow) When I was living full-time in Glasgow (3 years ago) the WT were banned from playing there (by the Police) and had to perform somewhere near Prestwick (about 30 miles away). Also their concert in Edinburgh had to be cancelled as the Police would only allow the concert to be played at 12:00, MIDDAY !!, they were afraid of the HOOLIGAN element coming over from Glasgow. I saw them once in Glasgow and it was like standing in the Jungle (home of Glasgow Celtics diehards...) at a Celtic v Rangers game (mental doesn't come near describing the atmosphere !!!!). I can understand why they made their video in Glasgow, but the atmosphere is very different to a WT concert in Ireland. - Robin......... |
