| Good Morning,
You might want to take a ride to Woodstock, Vermont.
A good sized store that carries kilts, crests and all sorts of
goodies. It's called "Scotland by the yard". Very impressive.

| I also would recommend "Scotland By the Yard", on Rt. 4, between Woodstock,
Vermont and Quechee Gorge. Nice folks! It's only a 2-1/2 hour drive from
Nashua, either through Keene and up the Conn. River valley, or through
Concord/I-89.
"The Scottish Lion", in North Conway, NH, recently put out a new catalog. I've
had little dealing with them, and the little left me with a bad taste.

677.4 | Try Geoffry Tailor | VAXWRK::BEATON | | Fri Nov 10 1989 08:24 | 10 |
| While the quality of the products at "Scotland By the Yard" is quite
good - their prices are higher than they should be. The best quality
for the dollar is Geoffry Tailor. They are from/in Edinburgh, but
they also have shops in California and Connecticut(Stamford, I think).
I'll look out their address this weekend, and post it next week.
I have made several purchases from Geoffry Tailor, and the Pipe Band
that I play in has also made several bulk purchases. No complaints.

677.5 | Irish Cottage (?!) | WECARE::BAILEY | Corporate Sleuth | Fri Nov 10 1989 15:49 | 8 |
| The Irish Cottage in the Royal Ridge Mall in Nashua has just started
carrying kilts (or at least *I* never noticed them there before!)
That's a chain, so the other ones around probably have them, too.
My guess is that they would special order any varieties they don't
have in stock, but that's only a guess.

| No, the Irish Cottage NEVER had anything Scottish before. Hmm. Maybe there's
not enough Irish business in Nashua??? (THAT ought to bring 'em out of the
woodwork!)
Seriously, if you go anywhere for a kilt, and if the tartan is not readily
available, you could easily have to wait up to 6 months or more. I did, and
others have. 'Seems as though there are few places that make some of the
not-so-common tartans. Shop around for availability first (if time is at
all a factor), then look at price. My 2 cents worth.
If you can find the material, there are a number of good kilt-makers around.
