Hi all!! I need some fast help desperately! I have a friend coming over soon from Ireland, and I need to write a letter for the American Embassy there saying that I've invited him and he'll be staying with me, etc. Can anyone one of you Dubliners get me the address of the American Embassy in Dublin (for the header on the letter), and give me advice on how to address it? Should it be "To the American Embassy, Dublin, or Mr/Ms Ambassador, or what? I need to mail this letter out today, so if you could get the info. to me soon, I'd appreciate it! If calling would be quicker, you can reach me at DTN 467-2514 (in Mass.). Thanks!! -Lorelei

re. .0 Lorelei, A politician "acquaintance" of ours, came up with a "short" suggestion to try and help you: Why don't you MARRY this lad from Dublin & solve all the problems?!! :^> Then you won't have to put all these notes in here about looking for touristy places to go, good restaurants, concerts and happenings, address of the American Embassy, letters to cover your beau's stay here, etc., etc., etc. I mean, once you take the plunge for connubial bliss, you can: Take him to all these touristy places yourself, Read the Globe "Calendar" and take him to all these restaurants and concerts in the greater Boston/New England area, Not have to write letters (looking for favors or letters of transit) from the political appointee morons that infest the U.S. Embassy system, esp. in Dublin, keep him here - which will be your and (Boston's) gain, and Ireland's loss, and last but not least, you can invite all of us Celt noters to the wedding so that we can finally have that get-together everyone has been talking about, BUT NOT DOING ANYTHING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. (I'm talkin about YOU, keVin! Mr. Arts & Entertainment - INDEED! At least George, "Call Me Wild Thing" D'arcy has an excuse: he has another appointment to get his hair cut :^> ) Joe (Ambassador), Tir na Nog | |||||

RE: .1 "Consulation prize" > The IRISH EMBASSY in Boston is located at 535 Boylston Street, I realize that our Irish cousins have good cause to think that Boston is the Capitol of the United States, but isn't that place on Boylston Street a Consulate? |
