662.0. "Boston - October 22 1989" by STEREO::BURNS (The B&I to Paradise) Tue Oct 17 1989 10:24

Is anybody going to Boston on Sunday to either see the Galway
Rowing Club in action at the "Head of the Charles Regatta",
or to attend the "Waterboys Concert" that evening ???

I few of us will be doing BOTH, and we might ever saunter
over to the Midnight Court in the afternoon for a jar or two,
or stop into Limerick's later in the day around 6.00 for the "Sessiun"

Who knows, maybe George "Call Me Wild Thing" Darcy and/or
Paddy "I'm 80% certain" Culbert might even show up for a while.

Any suggestions where ye'll all be (so we know where to avoid, like) ??

What time ye'll meet at, etc. Inquiring minds want to know.

    keVin,
Surely you've realised by now THERE IS NO OTHER 20%.
(And if it were not for our generous nature, one might be tempted
to suggest that the 80% was something of an exaggeration also).

My guess is that "SOME" people will be arriving at "The Court"
around 4.00 and then off to Limericks around 5.30 for the Sessiun.

everything was wonderful - weather, biking (some pretty impressive
"hills" over there), food, vino, people, etc.

LADIE AND GENTLEMEN	(and you too Paddy)

It is with great pleasure that I announce that LIAM FERRIE
(Publisher Extraodinaire) of the World Renowned "Irish Emigrant"
will be joining us for "Cocktails" and an "Autograph session" at the
Midnight Court located on Milk Street near Quincy Market on Sunday
October 22nd starting at 4.00 pm, after which, I'm sure we will walk
over to "Limericks" on Batterymarch Street for the "Sessiun" that
        starts around 6.00 pm.

						Hope to see you there

    Regrets....

But everybody knows the 'in' crowd is going to the Waterboys on
    Monday evening, not Sunday.

Actually, its because we waited so long to buy our tickets, but
    nevermind...

Hope you get them 'warmed up'

Thanks to all who came to Boston yesterday ...

More than 80% of those invited DID show-up.

It was a shame that Patty O'Neil did not get to meet one of
        her old pals :-(

And you know who you are :-)

Bernard Farrell has agreed to have the next party .. !!!!

Gee thanks keVin !!

Was great to meet more of the faces behind the NODE::NAMES.

Are you feeling any better this morning Patty O' ??

I'm 80% sure she was upset because she went to all that trouble of coming into
Boston to meet someone who never even bothered showing up !

Now we'll need another excuse to get together somewhere for a few. Maybe
Ye-3 will finally organise a slide show ??

Shortly after responsibilities forced us to abandon Limericks last
night, the very same Waterboys showed up, and within minutes most
of them were on stage. If we were happy to see the place hoppin'
before the show, by all accounts, (one actually), the place ignited
totally for the last hour or so. I guess it's just as well we left
when we did, or this note wouldn't be getting written today...driving...
    babysitters.....work.....bah!

    Enjoy tonight's show.....ye're in for a treat.....and a bang on the ear!!!

662.15 crying in my beer....ISLNDS::ONEILMon Oct 23 1989 12:3610
    Bernard, keVin,

thanks for inquiring on my wellbeing.....I was able to clear my
eyes enough to drive ALL the back to Manchester, but they were still
puffed this a.m. due to the 80% of my time spent crying !! Please,
say a little prayer that I don't fall into one of those big cracks
in the earth out west - I'll be looking forward to seeing this
infamous slide show when I get back!
