618.0. "YE-3 World Tour '89!" by WREATH::DROTTER () Thu Jul 27 1989 13:08

Well, its been almost one whole day, and we have not heard anything
good, bad, or indifferent about the lads on tour.

Is there anything to report?! Enquiring minds want to know!!

This note has been set up for all fellow-Celt noters to report any
or all info about the YE-3 World Tour '89 such as:

    sightings
    appearances
    notable quotes
    pubs where they've been spotted
    "great cracks" they've attended
illegal activities they've been seen doing
their requests for bail bond money
    arrests
meetings with famous and/or INfamous local dignitaries
confrontations with brit invaders of the north of Ireland
    etc.

All info for this "fanzine" will greatfully be accepted here!

    News Wire Flash

According to our Man in Rinanna they have gone into hiding in County
Clare. All bearded bodhrn players are having their tuft twigged
in the hope of turning up Culbert. I would have thought that howlin'
cats in the vicinity was an easier method. There are conflicting
reports on Burns' disguise - he's either working as an undercover
postman, delivering material for the next election, or more likely,
he is giving a statuesque performance as a local county council
    worker. Tg go bog indeed.

A very dark and omnious cloud has been folowing YE3 since they embarked

on this world wind tour. Thats why they're in hiding. So all beware

of the infamous YE3 when they arrive in your area.

DO NOT FEED DO NOT GIVE THEM DRINK

for if you do they may not leave and will stay with you for all

How could you! You fly zillion of miles away to beautiful Eire
only to spend time logging onto a computer. Ugh!!!! Are you a
    'computer junkie'.....gotta get your fix!

Pat, that change in weather is a bad omen indeed!!

Hide the wives and daughters (and the family dog too!)
Stay off the streets. Why, not since the Viking scourge
of the 7th century has Ireland been so beseiged, er, not from
the usual Viking vandalism, but rather, from

incredibly BAD bodhran and squeeze-box playing!!!!

Dermot the wailing and howling of both cats and dogs will help
    you locate them alright.

    just kidding.

By the way why are you even near a terminal??? Stay away and
enjoy Guiness and 40 shades of green otherwise I'll call Dennis
and have you paged via a sattelite beeper. Seems GRANIT is having
    router problems.(kidding again)

Saturday night and I'm logging in. What is going on here? (Well
the girlfriend is studying her statistics) So I decided a peek
into my favourite conference is appropriate at this time.

Well gotta go read and get caught up on what's happening in Eire.

    Enjoy the holiday!!!

    suddenly im not so sure.

I think that is a very good idea. Rumour has it that YE-3 will be
in the Dublin area this weekend.

Bushmills Black Label (if that's what you're referring to)
is now available in the U.S. I received a bottle from one
of my employees for Christmas last year. I'll ask him where
he came across it, although I sincerely doubt he "imported"
    	it just for me.

Unless, of course, you simply want a bottle from Ireland itself.

And unless, of course, this is not the item to which you were
    	referring.

It might be in a Black Bush bottle. It may even look like Black
Bush. It will definitely not taste like Black Bush.

It will not have paid its lawful taxes either

618.15<Bushmills Black>YUPPY::MAYBINCWed Aug 02 1989 13:0315
"Bushmills", that's my old home place are there about's "Ballycastle",
The old Black label was a sight in our cupboard's. I'll be going
home soon (well around Christmas) perhaps I could forward you on
some. Perhaps they could make special plastic bottles. HA! HA!(that
    would be the day)

I have not been into the notes in sometime, as I have been on holiday.
I hope the lad's are enjoying their tour of the old home front,
please don't to much much damage. But do enjoy yourself's. If
you are passing by England on your way home, give us a shout as
I'm sure there's a lot of Paddies here who would like to share a
    drink with you.

As it's been a few years since I was over, I will acquiesce that
U.S. Black Bush may not have exactly the same flavo(u)r as the
original. If you get some, I'd be interested in a brief taste test!
I'll by a bottle of U.S. version, and we compare a couple.

    	Cheers,

My spies inform me that YE3 less 1 is bearing down on Dublin town...

    God help us all.

Why, not since the sack of Rome (410 A.D.) has a city been under
    such seige...from such scalawags

Further reports indicate they may be planning to hang out on
Moore St. to pass the hat after they play, or worse, pickpocket
    for their daily bread.

If anyone is in that part of town, you'll be able to recognize them:
what with their shamrock ties, tee shirts emblazoned with the Clare
county council motto, (tog e bog e), and their bleary eyes from
all that Black Bush & stout.

My only question is, who is going to pay for all that damage at
    Hanlon's that's about to happen???! :^)

YE-3 will be in Hanlon's tomorrow (friday) from about 5:30. Just
tell the barman to put it on the Ye-3 tab ;-)

They were spotted at the races in Galway yesterday - very easily
identified - loud green jackets and half-mast trousers.

I located our American visitors in Taaffes on Wednesday night and
they were in the best of form. At the risk of damaging their
reputation I have to report that they had not been thrown out
when I left at 1:20am. This, depite the company they were
keeping i.e. one Kevin (Murphy) Sullivan, Mike Hughes and an
erstwhile noter, Mike Carey. Paddy was still standing unaided
but he had taken the precaution of abstaining from the Guinness
after the first few days of his visit. Kevin B. took care to
stay leaning against the bar and Kevin S. did not risk getting
off his bar stool. Also in the company was the brother of Gerry
     Larkin now of Kanata.

my hometown on Saturday and the Bishop/Governor are praying for
no more disasters in the near future....I guess that rules out letting
the CELTers reunion in Little Rhody!

Paddy/John...did you ever go to visit your cousin in Newport? Remember,
    you WERE INVITED!

Why don't YE-3 drop me a note (How foolish, you're probably too
busy to do that sort of thing anymore....have your agent let me
know your availability & we will try to set something up)

Man The barricades. Get out the Shotguns. Dear old Dublin could not take this.

Arthur is already rubbing his hands in glee.

However we have a super defence this time. I am going to take you drinking with
Tom Keane - the scourge of the Dublin office.

Going by his recent record around here, his last public appearance
being June 30th, all these preparations are a little excessive, to say
the least. If he makes it through the third pint, without falling
    asleep, I'd be surprised.
