575.0. "Tickets needed for Christy Moore!" by WILLEE::OROURKE () Thu May 18 1989 12:36

Well, it's getting down to the wire, and some people have yet to
    get their Christy Moore tickets!

Most of us are all set, but certain procrastinators (and you know
who your are) have approached me to see if I know anybody with two
    extra tickets for sale.

So, are there any 'unfortunate souls' out there stuck with two
unneeded tickets that could be taken off their hands?

If so, please let me know.

    Thanks.

    Jen

Looks like it's gonna be pretty tough getting to the bar in
Johnny D's on Saturday evening......and at 8.03 a mighty migration
across the road.....I just hope he's feelin' a little nasty and
has no new songs about knitting needles and babies' names!!!!!!

The time to cut loose is nigh......

I am sure there is someone out there who has the lyrics of
"Irish Ways and Irish Laws" by Christy Moore!

Would appreciate your jotting them down for me.

    Thanks.

    Frances.

Irish Ways and Irish Laws Written by John Gibbs

Once upon a time there was
	Irish Ways and Irish Laws
	Villages of Irish blood
	Waking to the morning
	Waking to the morning

	Then the Vikings came around
Turned us up and turned us down
	Started building boats and towns
They tried to change our living
They tried to change our living

	Cromwell and his soldiers came
	Started centuries of shame
But they could not make us turn
	We are a river flowing
	We are a river flowing

	Again, again the soldiers came
Burnt our houses, stole our grain
Shot the farmers in their fields
	Working for a living
	Working for a living

Eight hundred years we have been down
The secret of the water sound
Has kept the spirit of a man
	Above the pain descending
	Above the pain descending

	Today the struggle carries on
I wonder will I live so long
To see the gates being opened up
To a people and their freedom
	A people and their freedom

Once upon a time there was
	Irish Ways and Irish Laws
	Villages of Irish blood
	Waking to the morning
	Waking to the morning

575.4Where is Chirsty Moore?ESBTST::GREENAWAYWed Jan 24 1996 15:1826

Subject: In need of a Christy Moore fix!

I've started listening to Christy Moore again recently (my new car
has a great cassette/radio/speaker system in it) and would
love to see him again live in concert.
I saw him in a Salthill, Galway disco (??) at Connor's pub back in 1985 or
86 and again in Somervill, MA at the Davis Sq theater in 89 or 90.

Has he been back to the USA for a tour since 1990?
Does anyone know if he is planning a USA tour in the near future?
    How is his health?
    Is he still doing concerts?
Is he still on the dry?

If anyone hears news of him in Ireland please post and keep us
    outsiders informed.

His rhythm, voice and lyrics are very inspirational to me.
Listening to his live tape last night helped me get pumped up for an
    indoor soccer game.

    Cheers,
    Paul
