493.0. "Salad days..." by VOGON::WALTERS () Fri Jan 20 1989 05:43

    Seen in the local (Reading UK) supermarket this week:

    	Celtic Cabbage - produce of England

    What with Murphy spuds, Welsh leeks and Scots oats, are we
    becoming a race of vegetables?

    Pob Hwyl,

    Colin the Carrot.

    PS Don't forget rugger fans its Wales versus Scotland tomorrow,
    We're going to hammer you Jocks.

    ...Just shows how wrong you can be about a team, well done Scotland.

    However, further evidence of Celtic Cabbages. last night I was
    reading a short tome on the Manx peoples and culture. It contained
    a list of traditional Manx names. One of which was "Quayle".

    Now, who do we know called "Quayle" who has the brain power of the
    average cabbage?  :)
