Has anybody in Munich got any information on the "Irish Festival
Week"???? I have heard it is starting in October sometime but I
don't know the dates.....Is it true that the Chieftains/Van the
man are giving a concert???....and the Dubliners are also doing
a gig???

Mick,
Didn't know it was a festival week, but I've got tickets for a concert
on the 6th of Oct. which they're calling something like "The Irish
Festival of Folk". It's on in the Circus Krone in Munich. It doesn't
specify on the tickets whose playing, but I've seen a poster advert
and from what I remember, it's the likes of Dolores Keane, Davvy
Spillane etc.... so it's worth a look. The tickets are 33 marks
(about 12 quid) and available from any of the ticket outlets, like
the one in Marienplatz station.

Just remembered, I heard that the Chieftains were playing in Salzburg
sometime in October at a festival there. The guys that run the folk
club here were approached to see if they would be interested in
aquiring their services for a night, for a wee consideration of
8,000 pounds..............

If you get any more info on that ..Chieftains etc can you let
us know...a few of us are thinking of going down to Salzburg if
neccesary..............Also any of ye boys up there heading to
Spain for the Ireland/Spain match..I think there is some holiday
in Germany around that time also.
