| July is when Tipp. win Munster Finals. The match will probably
be in Limerick unless Tipp. and Cork come to some arrangement between
themselves as to where they want to play the Munster Final in which
case it would be in either Cork or Thurles (the home of hurling!).
I think they have the date set for 17th of July.

| ah, keVin, I am indeed truly sad to inform you that it's not darts,
(yes...that's right, <FULL-CONTACT**ALL-PUB OPEN> "DARTS") that
will be contested upon the pitch! I wasn't aware that hurling was
still practiced in Clare this time of the season! Best of luck,
I understand that Cork, has, on rare occasion, had the privilege,
of providing the opposition to the WORLD's pre-iminent hurling county.
Not to worry, though, keVin I fully understand that with age, (YES,
I have seen the birth certificate) ones' memory often becomes cloudy...
so as a "friendly" service, I'll remind you, (and the rest of the
begrudgers) that it is indeed, in your own words; " GALWAY v. the

| The replay has now been fixed for Sunday 9th October.
This was agreed after discussions between the GAA and the Garda

with the cycling 'Nissan Classic' finish in Dublin, which will have
both Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche competing....

| Well Meath beat Cork in the All Ireland Football Final replay
in Dublin yesterday. The game was very close throughout and at
times very physical and hard.Meath had a player sent-off after
6 minutes but managed to stay in touch with Cork and finally
overtake them in the final quarter. The final score was...
MEATH 0-13
CORK 0-12
So Meath has now claimed two All-Irelands(Sam McGuire Cup) back
to back and are heading for the three-in-a-row!!!. The SAM this
year is a new one(exact copy of the original which had taken a
fair old battering down through the years)...'fill her up again

The match reminded me of when Galway played Dublin in a previous
All-Ireland, Dublin were down to 12 players against 14 but still

Can anyone recall another year when both hurling and football
champions retained their respective titles?

| Sean,
Yes Tipp were magic...Waterford were absolutely *filthy*.
Galway will be a different story...in spite of Tipp(old informers)
doing the *dirt* and getting Tony Keady suspended for 12 months
for playing 'illegally' in the U.S.
Galway to win by 5 points and to meet Offaly in the final and gain
revenge for '81.
As for Gaelic football the only hope for the game now is a Mayo
V Donegal semi-final(hopefully both will win next sunday in their
provincial finals). These two teams play clean open football but
still have a long way to go before the reach the high-standard
Kerry set some years back. I'd love to see Kerry turn the tables
on Cork next Sunday...but I doubt it.
Dream final would be Mayo V Kerry...yes we are all intitled to our
dreams.

Sorry Dave, Im not with this "Tipp Informers" bit...can you
elucidate please.
I heard on "crackley" Radio Eireann that Tony Keady was suspended
by New York GAA which I thought strange but apparently this was being
appealed by Galway, something about not being registered ? Whatever
I would have thought that it would have been a formality and I hope
that he will be available to play on August 6th. He"s a very fine
player, indeed that could be said of the whole Galway half-back line.
IF Tipp are going to beat Galway, Id like it to be Galways best team
so that theres going to be no excuses...we had none last year..the best
team on the day won and Im keeping my fingers crossed that this year
its going to be Tipps turn, and not just in the semis either.
As far as the football is concerned, well the old Corkies are looking
pretty ominous...beating Kerry three times in a row now. Whovever beats
them should win it I think....if anyone can!
Sen.
