Hi Folks,

You guys (and gals) have the widest distribution lists I know here at DEC.
I got this mail a little while ago and thought it was a good idea. Perhaps
you'd help in its distribution ?

Thanks,
Craig Schomp.

David is a 7 year old boy who is terminally ill. It is David's wish to be
in the Guinness Book of World Records as the person receiving the most
postacards. If you would like to send a postcard to David, or know someone
who would, his address is:

David
c/o Miss McWilliams
St. Martin Porres Infant School
Beldfordshire, England

The postage is $ .36

That poor boy has been dying for about 10 years (at least). This
thing is a practical joke. I've seen it pop up at least once a
    year.

From what I heard durring a similar re-occurance of this story on
Usenet, the story was valid, but was also first submitted several
years ago. The family would very much like the kind people in the
various net-lands to please *stop* sending cards as they are flooded
with them every time the story resurfaces in another network.

They do, however, thank all those that have contributed so far.

    Regards
    Bob K.

Could it be another person. Are you sure that it's the same school,
    town, person, etc.?

Davids case was recently brought up on the BBC "THATS LIFE" program.
His cause was totally genuine , and he has reached the guinness book
of records years ago, he was at some stages getting up to 5 sacks of
mail per day from as far a feild as Japan , Australia , and the USA.

Althogh terminally ill he has survived years longer than doctors
had expected and his parents do want people to stop sending the cards.
