| | And some of us in the States are angry also.

This outcome simply makes no sence to me. I've read about this
case and in my wildest dreams never imagined the British Court
would be able uphold the original verdict. The evidence seemed
so much in support of an innocent ruling. In my estimation the
legal system that has accomplished this miccarrige really needs
    to be looked at.

To bad we'll never get the real story!!!!!!!

My prayers will include these unfortunate people and there families

| | You're not the only ones; there are many people on the East of the
Irish Sea who are dismayed at this - we can only hope they are given
leave to appeal to the House of Lords, where in fact they probably
would get equally rough justice, but there is a chance...

The MP who wrote a book about these men (whose name I forget) says
he knows who did carry out this atrocity (and I hope that all of
you who are indignant at the injustice of the verdict are also appalled
by the original murders), but that revealing those names to the
police would not help the men in gaol - for in the case of the
Guildford bombers, the police simply upped the number to seven involved
when the guilty were arrested, the innocent stay in gaol too.

    Makes you sick, eh?

| | Jaysus, snake, what did ye expect.! As long as there are people
there is prejudice. I can't see that we'll be getting any fair
treatment by the Brits until we become a Country of our own.

It also appears the solicitors were not working very hard.

    the "wench" sees no end.

| | I have been closely following the case of the Birmingham "bombers".
I also read Chris Mullen's account of the events. Did we really
expect British "justice" to accept that these men are innocent.
To do so means openly admitting that the police force involved in
the arrest, some now high ranking officers, forced confessions from
these men. The sad thing is that I live here in England and there
is an unbelievable amount of apathy towards what happened among
    a lot of people.

It is now up to all Irish people and particularly the Irish Government
to bring this case to world attention. Only then can we expect the
British Government to listen. If they are quick to shout at America,
France and Germany for giving in to terrorist demands, then the
Irish government should not give in to this form of British terrorism.

I only hope that the IRA does not benefit from this miscarriage
    of justice.

    Teresa.

It now looks as if only political pressure will force the release
of these innocent men. I would dearly like to see a lobby building
up in the U.S. in support of the political prisoners who have become
    the victims of British expediency.
