My wife and I arrive in Ireland Sunday. We have a few last minute questions: 0 What type of establishments are the best places to exchange $'s for 's (to get the best rates)? 0 I wear contacts and will need distilled water at times. Is it readily available in Ireland, if so, what type of establishments are the best? 0 Car Rental is all arranged. I'm using an American based company, Kemwel, which has contacts with "contractors" in Ireland who supply the car. I had the impression that Ireland worked on an "empty tank basis", i.e. they charge you for a full tank and you {try} to return it empty as they keep any you leave behind. However, when I questioned Kemwel they said it was handled just like the USA. (Get it full, no charge, return it full, no charge, return it less than full, significant charge) Can anyone comment on that? 0 If our warm clothes are not warm and dry enough, can anyone recommend what types of shops/towns to look for such items at best prices? 0 Finally, can someone recommend a Bed & Breakfast or reasonably priced hotel in or near Galway? I appreciate any help any of you can offer. Regards, JO'R & Family

I have just returned back from home and I would like to recommend to you a lovely place in Galway, Salthill, and I hope that you would be more than satisfied with your accomodations . Ardilaun house. ring # 091 21433 the rate is 32.00 for the 4th floor rooms, less for the rooms below and if you get room #412 you can see Galway bay. Go to salthill, via Fr.Griffin Rd. to Taylor's Hill Rd. and you will find it on the left, up the hill. My family lives down the hill near Fr. Griffin rd. Bring WARM clothes.. jumpers and the like. If you need more, go into City Centre and Roches has the best buys, or at least I think so. Kate. |
