304.0. "Royal Favor" by CSSE::LEONHARDT (Dick Leonhardt) Mon Dec 07 1987 12:57
I have been trying to locate and learn something about a place
(or places) in Co. Tyrone without much success. My last try was
through my cousin's husband who was born, raised, and lives in
Leitrim. Does anybody know where this place is:
referred to in Burke's Landed Gentry as Favour Royal or Aghamoyles.
Also, Killibrick, Co. Tyrone.
Thanks

| Favour Royal is a country house and estate between the vilages
of Augher and Aughnacloy in the south of County Tyrone in Northern
Ireland. It is close to the line of the old Clogher Valley railway.
The earliest Favour Royal House was built by a landowning family
called Mountray in 1670. A fire destroyed the original and the
present building dates from 1825.
Favour Royal House is now owned by someone called Craig and the estate
is run as a public park by the NI Ministry of Agriculture.
Killybrick was another large house in the Favour Royal grounds.
