Carly Simons night club is on Martha's vineyard and is called
the ole tin shack. You have to take a ferry to get there.

| Thanks for the information.
Does Carly perform there and if so how often?

| As you had noted, 'photogenic' is all over around here. As your
time is limited, what do you like to photo?
Autumn colour? you picked the right time of year [along with thousands
of tour buses full of blue-hairs] just about anywhere you look.
Architectural features? where would depend on the sort
Human interest? try Harvard Square in Cambridge. or the Quincy
Market in Boston
the list could be endless...

| I had to get my two cents in here...especially after the reference
in the previous response to "blue hairs."
Hey, watch it honey, or my grandmother will beat you with her cane!
Some of my favorite places in Mass. include the houses of famous
people in Concord: (1/2 hour from Westford)
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Louisa May Alcott
Walden Pond (although I haven't been over there since it was
"renovated" It probably looks like Asbury Park now)
All very nice for taking pictures.
Or you could head west on Rte. 2 to Quabbin Reservoir. Bring your
binoculars and telephoto lens and you'll catch some eagles if you're
lucky. (1-1/2 hour away)
Beaches north of Boston are great this time of year, especially
Plum Island wildlife refuge.
If you're staying at the Westford Regency, everyone in this notes
file will show up with their rubber ducks to hit the pool and jacuzzi!
Better go incognito....
Happy trails,
Diane St. Onge

ps. I am from Kerry, lived in Salthill, Galway.
Go down to the Common, ask the local Garda "an bhfuil rud ar bith
le feiceail thart anseo?" and I'm sure your agenda will be filled.

| I you like to hike, bring your camera + binoculars + down jacket
and climb Mt. Monadnock, which is right over the New Hampshire
border. It takes 2 1/2 hours to climb and affords a panoramic
view from Boston - NY - Vermont - NH - Canada - Maine - Cape Cod
on a clear day.
Bring a lunch too. No BQ or Mickey D's.

| A big thankyou to all who took the time and trouble to reply to
my note. It's very much appreciated. I'll endeavour to cover as
much of the ground suggested as time permits.
As regards taking your rubber ducks to the Westford Regency I've
some bad news. For Westford Regency now read Quality Heritage Inn,
Chelmsford. I hope that they've got a jacuzzi there! I'll be there
from Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th, excluding Sunday 18th when I'll
be in Augusta, Maine.
I'll put a note in the file to let you know how I got on when I
get back. Hope to see some of you when I'm over there.
Regards,
Andy.

| Andy,
I don't know if you'll get an opportunity to read this but if you
get to Boston, I'd highly recommend the Freedom Trail which will
take you around the historical sites of Boston. You can get a brochure
and follow a red painted line along the pavement. Mind you I still
got lost!
